大正新修大藏经第 01 册 No. 0054 释摩男本四子经 No. 54 [No. 26(100), No. 55] 佛说释摩男本四子经 吴月支国居士支谦译 闻如是: 一时佛在释羁瘦国,行在迦维罗卫兜国泥拘类园,坐于树下。是时有释人名曰摩男,到佛所前,以头面着佛足为礼,白佛言:“我常闻佛语,辄着意中。我闻佛说,人心有三态,有淫态、有怒态、有痴态。我从闻以来,常着意,我自念:‘无有淫态心自为正,无有怒态心自为正,无有痴态心自为正。’我自念:‘常持是三者意不动,何因缘,殊不解?’” 佛言:“若淫心怒心痴心解者,何因缘复与妻子共居?若有贪心故。其有贤者,自思惟:‘虽有经小苦耳,久后大乐,与妻子共居须臾乐耳,久后大苦。’” “其有贤者,知世间乐少苦多?” 佛言:“诸比丘得阿罗汉道,知世间乐少苦多。我故求佛道者,但念世间乐少苦多。我为菩萨时,常念乐少苦多。” 摩男言:“独佛、阿罗汉有是念耳?” 佛告摩男:“听我言,以着心中。人于世间,何等为乐?凡有五乐,人所贪喜。眼贪好色。即着心中,昼夜念之以好色贪着;耳闻好声,鼻闻好香,舌喜美味,身得细软,即着心中,以好色贪着。如是五者,天下人所贪,天下乐着皆出是五事。知当出几何忧?世间人,或作田家从得生活,或作工师用得生活,或作贾市用得生活,或作长吏用得生活,或作畜牧用得生活,或作画师用得生活。是人寒者忍寒、热者忍热、苦者忍苦、饥者忍饥、渴者忍渴,俱坐贪意,俱忍是寒温饥渴。自怨言:‘我治生若干岁,苦欲死,殊不得钱财,与寒苦共居,或得病瘦。’” 佛告摩男:“是为一苦。二事者,贪淫之意。中有人,或作田家、或作工师、或作市贾、或作长吏、或作畜牧、或作画师,行治生,忍寒热饥渴,致贪钱财。以得富饶,复怀忧恐,畏县官亡其钱财、或恐火起烧其钱财、或恐乘船船没亡其钱财、或恐贼劫取其钱财、或恐贸卖亡其钱财、或恐贫家亲属持毒药毒之、或亲子散亡钱财,是人常与重忧共居,昼夜怀忧无有解已时。中复有人持钱财行,或逢县官、或逢水火、或货卖财物不还、或埋置地中不知其处、或有来诬谤之、或有亲子用父钱财,其人自念言:‘我从少小治生,忍寒热饥渴,忍勤苦致钱财,今复亡失。’从是忧念,或病或死皆坐财钱,是皆贪意五乐所致,是为二苦。 “三事者,世间人坐钱,父与子诤、兄与弟诤、夫与妇诤,或知识朋友共诤、或诸家内外共诤,背后相说恶露,是皆贪乐所致。世间人坐钱财故,王者与王者斗、道人与道人斗、田家与田家斗、工师与工师斗,皆坐钱财,故口相骂、杖相捶刀相斫,或相伤杀,皆坐贪所致,是为三苦。 “四事者,世间人从军,受取官钱公知,当行斗战生死无期,皆贪心故行从军;以受官钱不得复休,便斗,或伤头或截头、或伤臂或截臂、或伤脚或截脚,展相夺命,是皆贪所致,是为四苦。 “五事者,世间人贪意,夜行穿人室壁,或于道中劫人、攻人城郭,为吏所得,或截头、或截手、或截脚、或辜磔、或割其肌、或以火烧之、或以大椎椎其额、或斩其腰,是皆贪意所致,是为五苦。 “世间人坐钱财,转相欺,口亦相欺,身亦相欺,意亦相欺,时自以为可自用,无有过罪;不知殃毒在后,当入地狱。其有若贤者若沙门婆罗门,自思惟世间五乐多耶?忧苦多乎?” 佛告摩男:“我为菩萨时,常念世间乐少苦多,以是故求无为之道。其有人欲言世间乐者,皆不知生死之道。若世间有贤善,心意无贪之志,复欲教人莫令贪,是最为大德。” 佛告摩男:“我尝至王舍国,有山名设提班揽瞿何堕夫妻沛施。我见诸尼揵种,有放发行者、偻行者、坐地者、卧地者,身体无衣,皆被鹿皮。佛遥见之,前与尼揵语:‘若何因缘,作是曹放发行?何因缘于地坐卧,亦无衣被,自毒如是?’诸尼揵对佛言:‘我曹先世行恶所致,令我今世困苦如是,行恶未尽故耳。’佛言:‘若何因缘,闻知是事先世所为?从人闻耶?自知之乎?’诸尼揵言:‘亦不知,亦不闻,亦不事师。’佛言:‘若用是困苦故,得脱于生死乎?若亦不从人闻,亦不事师,若空自困苦为?宁可弃若所为,来事佛道。’佛言:‘我但惜若身,念若子孙,后世皆当复法,效若曹所为。’诸尼揵皆瞋恚佛所言:‘王萍沙用是沙门瞿昙,为内国中。’佛告诸尼揵:‘若曹勿恚!王萍沙见受我经,或不敢妄有所说。’佛告诸尼揵:‘若曹宁能正坐七日七夜,不饮食、不语言,如是为乐耶?王有宫阙伎乐为乐耶?’尼揵言:‘沙门瞿昙!为乐。’佛言:‘何以为乐?萍沙见国何以故不乐?’尼揵言:‘我曹少忧,用是故,沙门瞿昙胜王萍沙。’佛告诸尼揵:‘王萍沙!有淫之意、有怒之意、有痴之意,亦欲伏诸傍臣,复欲伏外诸民,昼夜计念,当治谁、当系谁?’佛言:‘其有淫者,亦欲自杀亦欲杀人;瞋怒者,亦欲自杀亦欲杀人;痴者,亦欲自杀亦欲杀人。’诸尼揵皆前到佛所,白佛言:‘我曹亦无淫态、亦无怒态、亦无痴态,宁可作沙门。’佛言:‘当归,报若父母。’诸尼揵言:‘我曹辞家学道,便与父母决。’佛言:‘若曹且受五戒归。’诸尼揵皆受五戒,一者不杀,二者不盗,三者不犯他家妇女,四者不欺,五者不饮酒。诸尼揵受五戒,着衣举发正行,各自归家。” 佛告摩男:“若闻经淫意、怒意、痴意,若言我持佛教,若熟思惟是五事,宁与世间等不?” 摩男言:“我当归思惟讽诵是经典,日当到佛所。” 摩男前为佛作礼而去。 佛说释摩男本四子经
