大正新修大藏经第 01 册 No. 0053 苦阴经 No. 53 [No. 26(99), No. 125(21.9)] 佛说苦阴经 失译人名今附后汉录 闻如是: 一时婆伽婆,在舍卫城祇树给孤独园。彼时诸比丘,中后聚论皆悉会,少有所因。彼时有诸异道异学,中后行彷徉,而行至彼诸比丘所,到已共诸比丘面相慰,面相慰已却坐一面。彼诸异道异学却坐一面已,语诸比丘曰:“诸贤!沙门瞿昙智慧说淫,智慧说色痛。诸贤!我等亦以智慧说淫,智慧说色痛。此诸贤!有何差、有何降、有何若干?此沙门瞿昙及我等俱有智慧。”彼时诸比丘闻诸道异学所说,亦不然可、亦不呰蔑。不然可、不呰蔑已,从座起而还。“我今闻此所说,问世尊已当广知其义。”便至世尊所,到已礼世尊足,却坐一面。彼诸比丘却坐一面已,如共异道异学所论,尽广向世尊说。作如是向世尊说已,世尊告诸比丘曰:“此诸比丘!彼时应向异道异学作如是说:‘云何淫气味?云何是败坏?云何是弃?云何色气味?云何是败坏?云何是弃?云何痛气味?云何败坏?云何弃?’此诸比丘!应作是答。异道异学彼闻已,各各相视外,当更求论,必当瞋恚。恨恚已默然,面不悦,身支节污,背其面,不能答。变其面,当默然从坐起,便即还。何以故?我不见天及世间魔梵、沙门婆罗门、众天及人,闻我所说,与我等者知其义,若从如来、如来弟子,若彼闻此,此间闻已。云何淫气味?谓因五淫,若生乐、若生喜。如是淫气味,此中多有败坏。 “云何淫败坏?此族姓子,或以功伎以自存命,若耕作、若贩卖、若客书、若学算、若学数、若学作诗、若学首卢、若教书、若应官募,彼寒寒所逼、热热所逼,强忍饥渴为蚊虻蝇蚤所噬,彼忍此而求钱财。彼族姓子,作如是起、作如是行、作如是勤行。彼作如是,而不能得财物,便忧戚不乐啼哭,自椎自打,而愚痴作如是言:‘我为痴行、为不得。’彼族姓,不使起,便勤修作行,彼便得果。彼得钱财,便守护之、极藏举之:‘今我此财,莫令王夺我,莫令贼盗、莫令火烧、莫令腐坏、莫令出利失利。’彼守护钱财,而为王所夺、贼所盗、火所烧而败坏,出利不得利。彼便忧戚不乐啼哭,自椎自打,增益愚痴。复次,彼长夜所可爱喜念,恚败坏失,此今现身是苦阴,因淫故、缘淫故、增上淫故,是淫因缘。众生因淫、缘淫、增上淫,因淫故,母共子诤、子共母诤,父共子诤、子共父诤,兄共妹诤、妹共兄诤。彼共斗诤,母说子非、子说母非,父说子非、子说父非,兄说妹非、妹说兄非,况复人人耶?此是今现苦阴,因淫故、缘淫故、增上淫故。此众生因淫故、缘淫故、增上淫故,王王共诤,婆罗门婆罗门共诤,居士居士共诤,贱人工师贱人工师彼各各共斗诤,各各作种种斗具。或以拳、或以石、或以刀、或以杖,于中死死苦,此是现苦阴,因淫故、缘淫故、增上淫故。此众生因淫故至增上淫故,使着铠便执弓箭,或着皮铠持极利刀,相围聚斗。彼于中或以象斗,或以马、或以车、或以步兵、或以女人、或以士夫,于中或有死死苦,此是现苦阴,因淫故、缘淫故、增上淫故。此众生因淫故至增上淫故,着铠至持极利刀,诣极高城而欲伐之。彼于中或吹贝、或击鼓、或举声唤呼,或以椎、或以戟、或以戚、或以利轮、或以箭相射、或下乱石、或以弩、或以销铜注之,于中死死苦,是为现苦阴,因淫故至增上淫故。此众生因淫故至增上淫故,至王城邑,或穿墙破藏、或盗他物、或截他道,坏他城、破他村、杀他人,被有司执之,驱使作种种苦行:或截其首,或截手足,或截其耳、或截其鼻、或截耳鼻,或截其髻、或截其发、或截髻发,或着函中、或衣戮杀,或着沙石上、或着草上、或着铁驴口中、或着铁师子口中、或着铜釜中、或着铁釜中,或段段割之、或利叉刺之、或卧热铁床上以热油洒之,着臼中以铁杵捣之,若以龙噬、若以挝打、若以卷卷,将至标下以刀枭首,是现身苦阴,因淫故至增上淫故。此众生因淫故至增上淫故,作身苦行口意苦行,彼时若得患病苦,卧在床上、卧在座上、或卧荫中,身有痛极苦极痛,不乐命欲断。谓彼身苦行口意苦行,彼终时倒悬向下,犹若冥时日欲没大山大山间,彼山影倒悬向下。如是彼身苦行口苦行意苦行,彼时命终倒悬向下。彼作是念:‘此身苦行口意苦行,倒悬向下,本不作行、本不作福,我多作众恶,谓趣作恶、作贪、作凶暴,不作福行、不作善行,亦不作有所归,我必堕其趣。’此便有变悔,变悔已终亦不善、生亦不善,此是现苦阴,因淫故至增上淫故。此众生因淫故至增上淫故,作身苦行作口意苦行,彼作身至意苦行已,彼因彼缘身坏死时,生恶趣泥犁中。此是彼身苦阴,因淫故至增上淫故,是为淫败坏。 “云何弃淫?若有于淫有求欲,当止求欲、当度淫欲,弃此淫欲,是为弃淫。 “诸有沙门婆罗门,如是气味淫者,于中有败坏,弃舍不知如真,彼岂能自弃淫耶?复能止他耶?如与住俱岂能止淫?是事不然。诸有沙门婆罗门,如是气味淫,知是败坏,能弃舍知如真,后自能止淫,亦能止他,如与住俱能止淫者,有是处。 “云何气味色?若刹利女、婆罗门女、工师女、庶人女,若十四十五女,于此时容色具足,彼时形色有乐有喜。尔时气味色,此中多有败坏。云何色败坏?当如见妹老耄年过、齿落发堕、鲐背执杖申缩而行。于意云何?前好容色宁败坏不?” “唯然世尊!” “复次,当如见妹病苦患,若卧床上、若卧座上、若卧荫中,痛悉着身,极苦极患,不乐命欲断。于意云何?前好容色宁败坏不?” “唯然世尊!” “复次,当如见妹若死,一日至七日,若乌啄、若鸱啄,若狗食、若狐食,若火烧、若埋、若虫。于意云何?前好容色宁败坏不?” “唯然世尊!” “复次,如见妹死尸,若骨若青、若虫若食、若骨白。于意云何?前好容色宁败坏不?” “唯然世尊!” “复次,若见如妹尸,无有皮肉但筋相连。于意云何?前好容色宁败坏不?” “唯然世尊!” “复次,若见如妹死尸,骨节处处分解散在异处,脚骨在一处,髆骨髀骨、腰骨脊骨、肩骨项骨、髑髅骨,各在一处。于意云何?前好容色宁败坏不?” “唯然世尊!” “复次,若见如妹死尸,骨正白如贝,若青鸽色、若赤油润、若腐碎。于意云何?前好容色宁败坏不?” “唯然世尊!” “是为色败坏。云何弃色?谓于色有求欲,当止求欲,度一切求欲,弃此色。 “诸有沙门婆罗门,如是气味色于中败坏,无弃舍不知如真,岂能自止色耶?复能止他乎?而与住居,岂能止色耶?是事不然。诸有沙门婆罗门,如是气味色,知败坏弃舍离,知如真者,彼能自止色,亦能令他止,如所住能止色者,有是处。 “云何气味痛?此比丘于淫解脱,至住四禅正受,住于彼时,亦不自坏亦不坏他,此无坏已,于中便得乐。何以故?我说不恚得乐痛,是为痛气味。 “云何痛败坏?谓痛是无常苦尽法,是为痛败坏。 “云何痛弃?谓痛求欲,止求欲、度求欲,是弃痛。 “若沙门婆罗门,如是气味痛,不知败坏,不知弃舍,不知如真,彼岂能自止痛耶?复能止他乎?而与住居弃痛者,是事不然。诸有沙门婆罗门,如是气味痛,知是败坏弃舍,知如真者,彼能自止痛,亦能令他止,而与住居能止痛者,有是处。” 佛如是说。彼诸比丘闻世尊所说,欢喜而乐。 佛说苦阴经
