大正新修大藏经第 01 册 No. 0046 阿那律八念经 No. 46 [No. 26(74), No. 125(41.6)] 佛说阿那律八念经 后汉西域三藏支曜译 闻如是: 一时,佛在誓牧山求师树下。贤者阿那律,在彼禅空泽中坐思惟言:“道法少欲,多欲非道;道法知足,无厌非道;道法隐处,乐众非道;道法精进,懈怠非道;道法制心,放荡非道;道法定意,多念非道;道法智慧,愚闇非道。” 佛以圣心逆知其意,譬如力士屈申臂顷飞到其前,赞言:“善哉善哉!阿那律!汝所念者为大士念。听吾语汝大士八念,善思行之。当学四禅捡意观法而无中止,必获大利,不失所愿。何谓四禅?惟弃欲恶不善之法,意以欢喜,为一禅行。以舍恶念专心守一,不用欢喜,为二禅行。欢喜以止,惟如法观觉见苦乐,为三禅行。又弃苦乐,忧喜悉断而住清净,为四禅行。已学如是,而后惟行八大人念。四禅为捡意法,快见于行,得利愿疾,不复中止。又少欲者,其义譬如王有边臣,主诸椷簏满中彩衣,而汝自乐着粗弊者,少欲知足,隐处精进,制心定意,智慧舍家,不以戏慢,无有差跌,必安隐人,至泥洹门。是八大人念,惟四禅捡意观法,其义譬如王有边臣,监主厨宰和调五味,而汝自乐乞食,趣得救身不以快心。其义譬如王有游观楼阁,而汝自乐山泽树间燕处精进,无欲于世。其义譬如王有边臣,主诸良药及酪酥醍醐石蜜,而汝自乐有疾以服,小便趣得除恼。以行八念,思惟四禅,精进不亏,心无差跌,必自安隐至泥洹门。” 佛说是已,即还誓牧告诸弟子:“道当少欲,无得多欲;道当知足,无畜遗余;道当隐处,无乐众会;道当精进,无得懈怠;道当制心,无得放逸;道当定意,无得乱念;道当智慧,无得愚闇。 “比丘当少欲者快,谓身自少欲,不使众人知我少欲,义当从是。 “比丘知足,谓应器法衣床卧病药,得食足止,不畜遗余,义当从是。 “比丘隐处,谓避人间,不入众会,远居山泽岩石树间。如有四辈,若王大臣来从问道,为说清净欲令疾去。譬如贫人负豪姓债,为主所牵抴,欲离不乐潜隐远遁,义当从是。 “比丘精进,谓断非法,勤行经道未常懈惓,上中后夜经行坐卧,常觉寤意念净以除五盖,义当从是。 “比丘制心,弃欲恶法,坐意惟观,以断苦乐,得四禅行,义当从是。 “比丘定意,谓常一心,观身观意观法,不为猗行,摄念就道舍痴恼想,义当从是。 “比丘智慧,谓知四谛:苦.习.尽.道。何谓苦谛?生苦、老苦、病苦、死苦、忧悲恼苦、恩爱别苦、怨憎会苦、所欲不得苦、合五盛阴苦。生苦者,谓人随行所堕,受胞成生,已出形现,根入受长。老者,谓人根熟形变,发白齿落、筋缓皮皱、偻步拄杖。病者,谓人罪行所致,痈疽疮脓痫癫长病,亦百余种。死者,谓人命逝形坏,温消气绝魂神离逝。是皆为苦。何谓习谛?谓淫心乐喜而生恩爱,志在贪欲,令复有漏,众行滋盛以着自缚。所谓爱者,眼爱色、耳爱声、鼻爱香、舌爱味、身爱细滑、心爱所欲;但观其常乐在望,安以为利,呼言是我有,以着自缚,从是故色痛想行识五阴爱盛,见常贪乐,谓是我有,以着自缚。所谓色者,精神所受地气、水气、火气、风气,变化为形;以所爱着,令眼识色、耳识声、鼻识香、舌识味、身识细滑、意识法着,信为习谛。何谓尽谛?不受不入,爱尽无余,缚着已解,如慧见者,不复有一切故。世间人无所见,五阴所著;计数已尽,爱缚都解,已从慧见非常、苦、空、非身故断,是为尽谛。何谓道谛?谓八直道,正见、正思、正言、正行、正治、正命、正志、正定。何谓正见?正见有二:有俗、有道。知有仁义,知有父母,知有沙门梵志,知有得道真人,知有今世后世,知有善恶罪福,从此到彼以行为证,是为世间正见。已解四谛:苦.习.尽.道,已得慧见,空净非身,是为道正见。正思亦有二:思学问、思和敬、思诫慎、思无害,是为世间正思;思出处、思忍默、思灭爱尽着,是为道正思。正言亦有二:不两舌、不恶骂、不妄言、不绮语,是为世间正言;离口四过,讲诵道语,心不造为,尽无复余,是为道正言。正行亦有二:身行善、口言善、心念善,是为世间正行;身口精进,心念空净,消荡灭着,是为道正行。正治亦有二:不杀盗淫,不自贡高,修德自守,是为世间正治;离身三恶,除断苦习,灭爱求度,是为道正治。正命亦有二:求财以道不贪苟得,不诈绐心于人,是为世间正命;以离邪业,舍世占候,不犯道禁,是为道正命。正志亦有二:不嫉妒、不恚怒、不事邪,是为世间正志;离心三恶,行四意端,清净无为,是为道正志。正定亦有二:性体淳调,安善安固,心不邪曲,是为世间正定;得四意志,惟空、无想、不愿,见泥洹源,是为道正定,是为道谛。比丘舍家弃捐恩爱,安静思道无所恋慕,意不随欲净无挂碍,是为道法,义当从是。” 贤者阿那律闻佛说经,开导其意受行三月,漏尽意解,得三治以为证已,自觉得罗汉,便说偈言: “夫欲而无厌, 乐众以放意, 是行以致苦, 修恶多所著。 少欲知道行, 知惭不自见, 是法堕清净, 远恶致度世。 道意不贪生, 亦无乐死别, 吾以如空定, 诸苦得待时。 从佛受教命, 守行弃欲恶, 所身患已舍, 得利就无为。 自致至三治, 已拔恩爱根, 当于维沙聚, 竹园般泥洹。” 佛说阿那律八念经
