大正新修大藏经第 01 册 No. 0039 顶生王故事经 No. 39 [No. 26(60), No. 40] 佛说顶生王故事经 西晋三藏法炬译 闻如是: 一时,婆伽婆在舍卫城祇树给孤独园。尔时,尊者阿难在闲独处,便作是念:“乃至贪欲染着皆悉藏贮,贪欲无厌足。”尔时,尊者阿难便从坐起,往至世尊所,到已头面作礼,便一面坐。尔时,尊者阿难须臾退坐,长跪叉手白世尊言:“向至禅所,便起是念,乃至贪欲染着无厌足。” 尔时,世尊告阿难曰:“如是,如是!阿难!乃至贪欲染着藏贮,实无厌足。所以然者,阿难!曩昔久远时,有大王名顶生,真法之王,治化人民无有卒暴,七宝具足。所谓七宝者,轮宝、象宝、绀马宝、珠宝、玉女宝、居士宝、典兵宝,是谓七宝。亦有千子勇悍猛健,颜色暐晔能却他敌,犹如此世界江河大海,以法治化不加刀杖。尔时,阿难!大王顶生便作是念:‘我曾闻,曩昔旧人,寿命极长,聪明黠慧。’便作是语:‘然我有是阎浮利地,有力势神足,谷茂丰熟人民繁稠。’王便生是念:‘我欲使雨七宝于我宫中。’尔时,阿难!王顶生作是念已,即七日之中雨七宝。尔时,顶生王复于异时便生是念:‘我曾闻,曩昔旧人,寿命极长,聪明黠慧。闻有弗于逮神足自在,谷茂丰熟人民繁稠。我欲往彼治化。’尔时,阿难!王顶生适作是念已,于阎浮利不现,出弗于逮,及四部兵。尔时,弗于逮众生遥见王顶生来,大众围绕各各持银钵盛满碎金,或持金钵盛满碎银,往至顶生王所,到已白顶生王:‘善来!大王!此是大王弗于逮界,神足自在,谷茂丰熟人民繁稠,愿大王于此治化,我等尽是大王所领。’ “尔时,阿难!王顶生于彼治化无数百千岁。是时,阿难!大王顶生,复于异时便作是念:‘我有阎浮利地,所欲自在神足,谷茂丰熟人民繁稠。我已雨七宝于宫殿乃至七日,今复有弗于逮境界自在神足,谷茂丰熟人民繁稠。我曾闻,曩昔旧人聪明黠慧,便作是语:“有瞿耶尼国土神足自在,谷茂丰熟人民繁稠。”’王便作是念:‘我欲往至瞿耶尼界率化人民。’ “尔时,阿难!王顶生作是念已,便从弗于逮没,往瞿耶尼界,及四种兵。尔时,瞿耶尼人民遥见王顶生,各以持银钵盛满碎金,或持金钵盛满碎银,各送往献往至王顶生所。到已白顶生王言:‘善来!大王!此是王瞿耶尼界,谷茂丰熟人民繁稠,唯愿大王,于此瞿耶尼界率化人民,我等尽是大王所领。’尔时,阿难!王顶生于瞿耶尼治化人民,无数百千岁无数万岁。尔时,阿难!大王顶生复于异时便生是念:‘我有阎浮利地,谷食丰熟人民繁稠,雨七宝于宫殿乃至七日;亦有弗于逮界神足自在,谷食丰茂人民繁稠;亦有瞿耶尼界神足自在至人民繁稠。’是时顶生王便作是念:‘我曾闻,曩昔旧人聪明黠慧,有作是语:“有郁单曰界,神足自在至人民繁稠。于彼国土,一切人民各无所属,所欲自在寿命极长,于彼命终尽生天上,食自然粳米,着劫波育衣。”’尔时,顶生王便作是念:‘我当于彼治化。’以生此念,尔时,阿难!顶生王于瞿耶尼没,即往郁单曰界,及四种兵。尔时,顶生王遥见彼国地,皆平正尽绀青色,见彼色已便告诸群臣人民:‘卿辈!颇见地平正绀青色不乎?’答曰:‘如是。大王!’‘卿等欲知,此是劫波育衣树。彼人尽着劫波育衣,卿等亦着劫波育衣。’尔时,大王顶生复更见地淳白色,见已复告群臣:‘卿等见此地白不乎?’答曰:‘如是。’‘此是自然粳米,无皮无茎,不加捶杖亦不扬簸,香顺风百由旬、逆风五十由旬,极香极美。彼士人民食此粳米,诸贤亦当食此粳米。’尔时,顶生王遥见地平正皆绀青色,见已告群臣人民言:‘汝等见此绀青色不?’对曰:‘如是。大王!’‘此是四指濡草,极濡如孔雀毛,各各右旋与体无异。郁单曰人皆坐此草,卿等亦当坐此草。’尔时,大王顶生遥见城郭楼橹埤堄,见已便告群臣人民言:‘卿等!见此地平正楼橹埤堄不?’对曰:‘如是。大王!’‘此是人民所住舍。’尔时,郁单曰人遥见顶生王来,各以金钵盛银粟,银钵盛金粟,白顶生王言:‘善来!大王!此是王郁单曰界,神足自在,谷茂丰熟人民炽盛。愿大王于郁单曰治化人民,我等亦当顺从王教。’尔时,阿难!顶生王于郁单曰治化人民,无数百岁无数千岁。是时王顶生复于异时便作是念:‘我所领境界有阎浮利地,神足自在至人民炽盛,我于彼雨七宝在宫殿乃至七日;我亦有弗于逮界,神足自在至人民炽盛;我亦有瞿耶尼界,神足自在至人民炽盛;我亦有郁单曰界,神足自在至人民炽盛。我曾闻旧人聪明黠慧,作是说曰:“有三十三天,寿命极长颜貌端正,于彼有天名释提桓因。”我今当往诣彼三十三天,便受五处,天寿、天色、天乐、天神足、天增上,我今欲往至三十三天。’尔时,阿难!顶生王作是念已,于郁单曰,没便往住三十三天,及四种兵,诣彼善法讲堂。尔时,释提桓因遥见顶生王来,见已便语顶生王曰:‘善来!大王!可就此座。’尔时,阿难!顶生王即就座而坐,与释提桓因同坐,此二王同坐而无有异,颜容姿貌正等无异,唯眼眴异。是时顶生王复于异时便作是念:‘我有阎浮利地,神足自在至人民繁稠,于宫殿雨七宝乃至七日;亦有弗于逮界,神足自在至人民繁稠;我亦有瞿耶尼界,神足自在至人民繁稠;我亦有郁单曰界,神足自在至人民繁稠,及此三十三天长寿久处此。’尔时,三十三天集善法讲堂,各次第坐。尔时,三十三天便作是念:‘此顶生王,是阎浮利地王,以法治化,七宝具足,千子围绕,于四境界最尊第一,不加刀杖以法治化人民。’尔时,阿难!释提桓因与顶生王半座使坐,二人同坐光色无异,颜彩容貌皆悉同一,唯眼眴异。 “尔时,阿难!顶生王于彼五欲而自娱乐无有厌足,无数百千岁无数万岁。尔时,阿难!顶生王复于他时而生是念:‘我所领境界,有阎浮利地,神足至人民炽盛,七日之中雨七宝于宫殿上;亦有弗于逮界,神足至人民炽盛;我亦有瞿耶尼界,神足至人民炽盛;我亦有郁单曰界,神足至人民炽盛;复有此三十三天寿命延长颜色暐晔。有此善法讲堂,四园具足。云何四?难檀桓园、宝彩园、粗坚园、杂种园,是为四园。有昼度树、拘毗多罗树,皆悉茂盛,香顺风百由旬、逆风五十由旬,此是三十三天所娱乐处,四月之中五欲自娱。此是善法讲堂所皆青琉璃,此是天帝所坐处,百台围绕皆七宝成,一一台有七百阁,一一阁有七七玉女,一一玉女有七七使人,皆是释提桓因所领。’尔时,阿难!顶生王复生此念:‘我今当移释提桓因,于此三十三天治化诸天。’ “尔时,阿难!顶生王适生是念,即于释提桓因坐处堕阎浮利,及四部兵。失神足举身皆痛,犹如人欲死时,轮宝灭,象宝命过,马宝亦终,珠宝不现,女宝命终,居士宝、典兵宝命终。尔时,阿难!大王顶生五种亲属皆悉云集,往诣顶生王所,白顶生王曰:‘大王命终后,备有问我曹者:“顶生大王临欲崩时,有何顾命?”我等当何以答彼?’尔时,顶生王答曰:‘若我命终后,有作是问者:“大王顶生临崩时有何顾命?”汝等当作是答:“诸贤欲知,大王顶生典领四天下,往至三十三天,于五欲而无厌足,便于彼命终。”’ “阿难!汝欲知者,尔时,顶生王者岂异人乎?莫作是观。何以故?尔时王者,阿难!即我身是。以此方便,阿难当知,乃至五欲而无厌足,染著于欲聚集藏贮,欲无厌足。所谓足者,至贤圣道,然后乃足。” 尔时,世尊便说偈言: “不以钱财业, 觉知欲厌足, 乐少苦恼多, 智者所不为。 设于五欲中, 竟不爱乐彼, 爱尽便得乐, 是三佛弟子。 食欲拘利岁, 终便入地狱, 本欲安所至, 命为苦所切。 诸法悉无常, 生者必坏败, 生生悉归尽, 彼灭第一乐。” 尔时,尊者阿难闻佛所说,欢喜奉行。 佛说顶生王故事经
